We already have parishioners involved with noble work that seeks to promote charity and justice: the Archdiocesan Legislative Network, PG Justice & Advocacy Council, Safe Haven Program / Warm Nights, SHARE, Shelter-Meal Ministry, SOME and Pro-Life efforts. We even have parishioners who volunteer at nursing homes and for the Special Olympics. We also have a good working relationship with Laura Yeomans from the Lanham office of Catholic Charities. Throughout the year, our parish is very generous with donations and food for the poor, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas time. Maybe a formal committee will foster more involvement and open up additional ways for us to help others?
