Been to so many Catholic Churches attending mass when cleared to reopen with.limitations but Holy Family is the only one where Priest and Deacon say prayers in front of congregation with mask on including the reading of the Gospel and the delivery of the homily. These prayers and especially the Gospel are supposed to be Words of God which you seem to desecrate with mask on. Jesus and His followers never wore masks nor gloves in dealing with the sick including those with leprosy. Do you think you will infect anyone even if you’re positive with covid or pick up covid from attendees when you’re more than 10 feet from them. The Basilica, GMUCC, St Matthias, etc. wear masks as they enter the altar and takes them off during as they say the mass. They only put their masks back as they provide the host to congregants and when the mass is over. Comment from a concerned parishioner. Thanks.

FATHER JOE: We followed the directives of the Cardinal. The priest is permitted to preach and offer Mass with the mask off. Initially the rules were clear that others had to wear masks. PG County is also not under the same rules as other jurisdictions. Currently all who attend Mass, vaccinated and not, are required to wear masks. There is no sin in this regard to the liturgy. The violation of obedience to a bishop in this regard would be a severe sin. It would also be a grievous sin to judge the priest, deacon or other volunteers of wrong. Go to confession.
